Since I started doing yoga regularly ten years ago, I have gotten younger and healthier
every year! I love sharing that joy with students. My asana classes are coloured by my training
from several schools of yoga. I studied the classical Sivananda style in India, which has a strong
spiritual component; the dynamic Ashtanga style in Thailand, with an emphasis on coordinating
movement with breath; and a Traditional Hatha style in Nepal. A Yin teacher training course with
Bernie Clark in Vancouver strengthened the importance of working deeply into the joints in both
Yin sessions and more active routines. Instruction in my class may sometimes include pranayama
and mantras. I aspire to encourage participants to tap into deeper places, both physically and
spiritually, while maintaining the ability to laugh at themselves (and at me occasionally!!).
